With nominations from around the 🌎 spanning 29 countries, ReadTheory’s Teacher of The Year award winners all have one thing in common – their students have shown dramatic improvements in reading achievement. For the very first time, the community took the reins and cast their votes for the six Award Recipients, resulting in an outpouring of support and camaraderie on social media. Together, the community recorded an incredible 3.8K unique votes!

Thank you for all your nominations, your passion for lifting each other up, and letting us be a small part of your success. We’re thrilled to introduce this year’s award recipients – it was a close race!

Congratulations to the Teachers of the Year in each category:

  • Middle School: Bonnie Shidler, Honey Creek Middle School, IN
  • High School: Kristina Hiatt, Stanly STEM Early College, NC
  • Special Education: William Barnwell, Saugus High School, CA
  • ESL: Sangeeta Tanwar, Virginia International Private School, UAE
  • International: Adeeba Waseem, Delhi Private School Sharjah, UAE

It’s that time again! We’re celebrating teachers around the world who are truly making a difference in building student achievement and engagement with ReadTheory with our second annual Teacher of the Year Awards! If you know of a teacher who deserves recognition, nominations are now live. And if you think you’re the one, don’t hesitate to nominate yourself!

These are the teachers that go the extra mile, they believe reading is the skill that’s foundational for all other learning –  and they use ReadTheory to power personalized learning for their students. 

Winners will receive the title of “ReadTheory’s Teacher of the Year,” a $250 Gift Card, and Personalized Swag!

How to Enter:

  1. Nominate a deserving teacher using this form beginning March 26th.
  2. All nominations must be received by 12:00 AM EST on April 7th. 
  3. Finalists will be notified by April 14th. 
  4. Teachers of the Year will then be chosen based on a community vote. 
  5. Winners will be announced before Teacher Appreciation Week

Terms and conditions of the competition organized by ReadTheory.org for the dates of March 25th – April 7th, 2024

Awards Organizer: The promoter and organizer of the giveaway is ReadTheory.org. The way to contact the organizer is via email at support@readtheory.org.

Mechanics: Participants will need to complete and submit the Google form.

Established Periods: Submissions must be in by 12:00 AM EST on April 7th, 2024. Finalists will be notified by April 14th. Teachers of the Year will then be chosen based on a community vote. Winners will be announced before Teacher Appreciation Week via email and social media.

Prize: The award consists of The Title, a $250.00 USD Amazon Gift Card, and Personalized Swag for the final six awardees!
