On November 14, 1969, Apollo 12 blasted off from Earth. On board were astronauts Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon. These brave explorers had a special mission. They were to collect rocks and dirt from a different part of the moon. This was different from Apollo 11, the first moon landing. With great success, they gathered samples, took pictures, and even set up an experiment. It was another leap for mankind in understanding our universe. We continue to learn from these missions today.
