Polar Bears: Kings of the Arctic
Polar bears are fascinating creatures. They live in the Arctic, where it's snowy and cold. These bears are known as marine mammals because they spend a lot of time in the icy seas. Their fur isn't actually white! It's transparent, but it looks white as it reflects light. Underneath the fur, their skin is black to absorb the sun's heat. Polar bears mainly eat seals. They use their strong sense of smell to find them. These bears can smell a seal from miles away! A polar bear can live up to 25 years. However, they are currently a vulnerable species because their habitat is melting away due to global warming. Let's protect these Arctic Kings!
