Lila loved Christmas - the lights, the tree, the presents. But this year, she wanted to learn about other holidays too. Her friend Aman told her about Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. Hannah described lighting the menorah, spinning the dreidel, and eating delicious latkes. Lila's excitement grew. Finally, her friend Keisha introduced her to Kwanzaa, an African-American holiday. Keisha taught her about the seven principles, the unity cup, and the beautiful mkeka mat. Lila was amazed at the rich traditions her friends celebrated.
