Charlie Discovers Christmas
Charlie always loved Christmas but didn't know why people celebrated it in certain ways. This year, he decided to find out. He learned that Christmas is celebrated differently around the world. In the United States, people decorate Christmas trees, hang stockings, and wait for Santa Claus to bring gifts. In Germany, they have a special cake called Stollen, and children leave shoes out for St. Nicholas. In Australia, many people celebrate Christmas at the beach! Charlie also discovered that the tradition of Christmas trees comes from Germany and gift-giving began to remember the gifts that the Wise Men gave to baby Jesus. He was thrilled to learn that Santa Claus was based on a kind man named St. Nicholas who lived long ago in Turkey and was famous for his generosity. He shared all these exciting facts with his family. From then on, each Christmas felt more special to Charlie. Now he didn't just love Christmas, he understood it too!
