Imagine you're a tiny piece of apple that's just been bitten off. As soon as you enter the mouth, you're crushed by the teeth and mixed with saliva, which helps you slide down the esophagus. Next stop, the stomach! Here, stomach acid breaks you down further into a liquid. You then enter the small intestine, where you're broken down even more so the body can absorb all your nutrients. After this, you move into the large intestine, where water is removed, and then, you're out of the body as waste. This is how our digestive system works every time we eat!
