Communities: Past and Present
Long, long ago, communities were smaller than they are now. People knew each other well and helped each other out. They would travel on horses or by walking, as there were no cars or buses. Children back then didn't have video games or cartoons. Instead, they would play outside, make toys from what they found, and had chores to do at home. Now, we have cars for traveling, phones for talking to people far away, and machines that help us do work faster. Children have more time for school and play because machines do some chores. But even though things have changed a lot, some things remain the same. In both past and present, communities are about people helping each other and sharing good times together.
