Apollo 11: Journey to the Moon
It was July 16, 1969. The countdown began: "10, 9, 8..." The Apollo 11, carrying three brave astronauts, was ready to take off. With a tremendous roar, it shot into the sky, beginning a historic journey. The spacecraft traveled through space for four days. On July 20, the lunar module, named "Eagle," separated from the command module and began its descent. The world held its breath. Then, the words came through: "The Eagle has landed." Neil Armstrong was the first to step out. He climbed down the ladder and set his foot on the moon s surface. He said, "That s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." After exploring and collecting moon rocks, it was time to return. The astronauts blasted off the moon, rejoined the command module, and journeyed back to Earth. They splashed down in the Pacific Ocean, safe and sound. The mission was a success!
