A Day Filled With Similes and Metaphors
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Liam. Liam s day started bright and early, as cheerful as a lark. He loved to watch the morning sunlight that was like a pool of liquid gold poured from the sky. His breakfast was as hot as lava, warming him up for the day. After breakfast, Liam was off to school, with his backpack hanging behind him like a turtle’s shell. His teacher, Mrs. Smith, was as wise as an owl. In class, the clock ticked slow as a snail, but recess was a rabbit race, short and quick. After school, Liam would rush home to play with his dog Max, who was his loyal shadow, following him wherever he went. As the day ended, the setting sun was a giant orange disc in the sky. Tired but happy, Liam would drift into sleep like a boat on a calm sea, dreaming dreams as colorful as a painter s palette.
